Editorial Standards
Transparent verification & testing methodology.
This policy explains how Mê Setup selects models, checks license evidence, separates recommendations from verified tests, and records technical fields.
1. Model Selection Criteria
We only publish 3D models that deliver functional value to workspace setups. Priority is given to designs that solve cable management, ergonomic device placement, desktop organization, or modular mounting. Purely ornamental designs without utility are excluded from our primary catalog.
2. License & Attribution Verification
A model may be published for reference before its license review is complete, but free and direct-download labels remain disabled until all required evidence passes these checks:
- Original Source: The verification record must include the designer or source owner, original source, license URL, and the date checked.
- Permissive Terms: Models labeled 'Free' must have an explicit permissive license (CC BY, CC BY-SA, MIT, etc.) that permits personal 3D printing and download.
- No Re-licensing: Mê Setup does not claim copyright over external designs. Attribution and original links are displayed when those fields are present in the record.
3. Test Status & Provenance Rules
The interface distinguishes recommendations from records that meet every verified-test invariant:
Stored values may come from creator documentation, a slicer estimate, or an editorial recommendation. Without complete evidence, they are not presented as a Mê Setup test result.
This label requires a test date, verification date, Mê Setup provenance, the recorded printer, and a visible observation in the page language. The page shows only those persisted facts.
4. Measurement & Technical Metrics
- Print Time: Stored in minutes. Unless the page has a complete verified-test record, this value is presented as a recommendation rather than an observed machine duration.
- Filament Weight: Stored in grams. Its verified status follows the same evidence label as the rest of the print profile.
- Dimensions: Reported as width × depth × height (X × Y × Z) in millimeters (mm).
5. Content Updates & Errata Policy
When a model revision or better-supported setting is reviewed, the stored record is updated and receives a modification timestamp. Known issues and limitations are shown only when corresponding editorial notes are available.
